Dinners with the Lakes family are always loud, lively and littered with laughter. Larry lives for it.

Before and after school with Lauren and Koi Lakes. Both A students, making their parents proud.
Koi isn’t the biggest fan of “everything bagels”.
Wednesday with the Lakes family.
While Larry and his wife were out by the shore making up in the bushes, the girls were at home doing their own thing. That is, until Lauren started not feeling so well. By the time Larry and Alex got home, Lauren was feeling really bad. Alex hopped in the shower and Larry provided the perfect cure for his sweet baby girl: medicine, love, a tuck in bed and a kiss goodnight.
Feel better soon Lauren.
Apology accepted. Good job Larry.
Alex and Larry had been avoiding each other since their argument. He was spending his time enjoying Lauren’s music and Koi gushing over Lauren’s music, when he wasn’t glued to his computer of course. Alex hated the distance that was occurring between she and her husband. They missed each other terribly but were being stubborn. That is, until the perfect opportunity presented itself.
Lauren asked her mommy about the glowing tree in the backyard. Where was it from? What was growing from it? Alex, looking Larry directly in his eyes, told Lauren all about the woman in Willow Creek, the special fruit and the new gardening present she received for bringing her the first harvest. Larry felt as if he’d been punched in the stomach. The girls were oblivious. Now he had to figure out a way to manage the guilt he felt and make up with his wife.

Anger issues aside, if only for the moment, it is time to update the Lakes family portrait.
It wasn’t like Alex didn’t know her husband was hot-headed with a
quick temper. She’d seen it before while he was working or when the
dishwasher needed repair after breaking down for the millionth time.
Larry usually took care of it by boxing in the backyard. She’d never,
ever seen it directed at her before. It scared her. She was afraid.
He was angry about the time she was spending in Willow Creek. Who did
she know there? Why did she keep going back? She tried to explain but he wouldn’t listen. She’d never seen this side
of him.
It broke her spirit and she couldn’t stop sobbing.
These two…
Lola and Troy decided to start meeting after school at the library for make-out sessions in order to avoid getting caught. But this time, Troy had a bone to pick with Lola…
He went on and on about how he didn’t want her talking to other boys, how much he hated that her dad was watching his every move, how he hated living with his grandmother…..
Troy had a lot going on. He didn’t have the seemingly happy family that Lola had. But Lola…. she knew that one kiss would make him feel better. It always worked.
What was even better? When Troy walked Lola back home Joey was actually happy to see him! He liked that Troy walked his daughter home and called him “Mr. Markham”.
Joey was coming around ya’ll…. Uncle Pete? Not so much…
Just, you know, some random updates on Joey and his family…
Lil’ Joey is quite the comedian, Lola and Troy still sneaking in make-out sessions when their parents are at work. On the rare occasion that Joey and Eloise are home, they take full advantage. El is still working on that baby weight. She’s been giving some thought to baby #5 but hasn’t made up her mind. Her garden? Extraordinary.
So, that’s that.
OH! At the suggestion of Lola, Audrey decided to look around online and get to know people. She wasn’t the social butterfly that Lola was and she felt comfortable talking to people this way. One person in particular…
She finally met a boy… Roger. They were the same age! They sent each other naughty little text messages all the time. One day they decided to stop playing around and meet up.
Turns out his name wasn’t Roger and he wasn’t 15…
*dun dun dunnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn*
The key to a good marriage is keeping the spark alive!
And by “good”, I mean lots of physical attraction
…and by “spark” I mean after-work make-outs/feel-ups on the couch.
……. and by “alive” I mean, woohootime in the bed. Frequently.
Meanwhile, meanwhile….
While Lil Joey was busy growing up and while Eloise was busy throwing down in the kitchen, Lola was busy…
- falling in love
- making out
- getting her booty felt on
trying to get as close to woohooing as possible without getting naked
I’ll admit though, they do make a cute couple.
Awww Lola…
While Eloise was busy throwing down in the kitchen, Lil Joey was busy growing up. He made is daddy so proud…
Joey did everything he promised he would do when he would rock him as a baby. First things first, fishing. Joey showed him how to bait the hook, how to examine the water and how to reel it in. Joey could have cried when Lil Joey caught his first fish!
He also finished his bedroom. Joey was one happy man ya’ll.
Just promoted to Pastry Chef and showing ALL the way out…
I just can’t even deal with El-boogie right now!
Joey gives me the death glare after he is forced to explain woohoo yet again to Audrey.
I died laughing when the first thought bubble that appeared during “the talk” was Joey telling Audrey that she’d be packing her shit and moving the fuck up out of his house if she even thought about gettin’ her woohoo on.
I can’t with Joey.
Audrey was having some personal issues ya’ll.
Those issues kept going under the radar considering her parents were dealing with a newborn, their careers and a teenage daughter who wants to woohoo Troy’s brains out all over their home.
Audrey was suffering from depression. She was late waking up for school every day and wasn’t finishing her homework. She just didn’t have the energy (we’ve all been there). Her grades were slipping fast and no one seemed to notice. That is, with the exception of her teachers. One of which, Mrs. Pumpsinabump, decided to come by and visit. She met Joey at the door and explained everything to him. This saddened Joey and it was hard for him take the news. Poor Joey…..
You see, Audrey was dealing with several things: She didn’t feel pretty. Lola was the pretty one. She felt she was fat. Lola had the best figure ever. She never caught the attention of any boys in school. Lola is officially going steady with one of the hottest and most popular guys in school. Lola got straight As. Lola Lola Lola…
Audrey brought all of these things to Lola one night, complaining about her problems and how she’d been feeling. Lola was shocked to hear of her sister (read: best friend in the whole fucking world i’ll fuck you up if you ever mess with her forever and ever amen) was so sad. She did her best to cheer her up. Reassuring her of her beauty, her passion and her confidence.
“Give me your phone Audrey.”
What teenager (or grown ass adult, or senior citizen, or child, or pet, or president or donkey or potato) didn’t take selfies?
Reluctantly, Audrey handed over her phone. Lola pulled up a selfie she took just that morning and pointed out the beauty in her eyes, how her hair was perfectly framing her face, how nobody could fuck with the duck lip better than she could, how the sun hit her beautiful brown skin….
Audrey perked up. They hugged and Audrey went to bed. So did Lola, but not with out the aching feeling of guilt in the pit of her stomach.
Poor Lola….
So Piper ended up telling on her older sister… caught Joey as soon as he walked in the door… the news broke his heart…
“Daddy! I saw Lola and Troy in your room and I heard slurping noises and EVERYTHING! What were they doing daaaadddyyy??”
Poor Joey…
He rehearsed and rehearsed but nothing can prepare a father for the talk he will inevitably have with his daughter about woohoo. How detailed would he get? Would he scare the shit out of her and immediately talk about diseases and babies and shit? He was clueless… however there was one thing he was sure of, he was pissed!
He wasted no time sitting Lola down and gave her the lecture of a lifetime. Lola could have pissed herself! “What the fuck is wrong with you Lola? My room? WHAT DID YOU TO DO? I SWEAR IF YOU ….”
Lola assured him that they did nothing but kiss. She wouldn’t disrespect his house like that, yadda yadda. But the trust was broken. Joey knew he didn’t like this kid for a reason… if he only knew it was his hot pants ass daughter that initiated it!
After the lecture he went into the gruesome details of woohoo… it was embarrassing for both of them but somehow they made it through the discussion….
Later that evening Lola (grounded and banished to her room) called Troy to tell him that her father found out.
Troy screamed so loud that Piper yelled for Lola to keep it down all the way from the next room.
Poor Troy…
Joey…
Couldn’t keep him away from his little dude. He couldn’t wait to see him grow up which would be any day now. As lil Joey’s birthday came closer and closer, Joey tried to convince Eloise that they needed just one more baby… Just one more! Eloise gave it some thought, but after that long ass labor with Joe Jr, she wasn’t so sure she could do it again.
Meanwhile, things in the Markham household were moving along. Peter was always around to keep the girls entertained while their parents worked. Joey was close to reaching the top of his career and was gone more than usual.
Eloise …. still giving baby number five some thought … decided to start working off that baby weight. The fresh air was good to her. Her garden was good to her as well. She took pride in it and working in it helped her relax.
Joey had a lot on his mind and when his brain was full he cleaned.
Currently, his daughter Lola and this little bastard named Troy was on his mind. Sooner or later he was going to have to have “the talk”.
Poor Joey.
OMFG Lola….
She was really starting to let her hormones get the best of her..
She couldn’t wait for Pete and her dad to go fishing (like they did every weekend when they weren’t working on the house of course). Audrey was studying with a friend, lil Joey was asleep and her mom was working. Piper was in her room working on some random experiment.
Perfect time for company.
As soon as her dad and uncle Pete closed the car door she rushed to her phone and texted Troy “Come over!" Troy was there before she could hit send! They watched about 15 minutes of a movie before Lola got hot. And I don’t mean turn-down-the-temperature hot, I mean HOT. She pulled Troy down the hallway into her dad’s office.
"Don’t worry, they will be gone for hours.” See, Troy was deathly afraid of her dad and Pete because clearly they would beat his little ass if they knew what was going on. Lola tried seducing him and his little hormones couldn’t take it and his pants started to grow in the front… before he could try and hide it, Lola went in for the kiss (daaaaaaaaaamn Lo!!).
It was their first kiss and it was a wet, sloppy, hot mess. She pulled him to her parent’s room and he trotted behind, pulling at the front of his pants.
(Lola you are SO fucking grounded.. your parents room? Really? This tea tho….)
Lola couldn’t hold back. Everyone at school was talking about “WooHoo” and she wanted to do it too! So did Troy, but his conscious slapped his dick and told it take a seat….
“Lo, I really like you. I mean like, really I do. But i don’t think we should do this, let’s take it slow for now, we don’t have to rush. Will you…. will you be my girlfriend and we can just do that whole thing?”
Yasssssssss honey! Why can’t grown ass men be like that? But I digress...
Lola tried to protest talkin’ about “It won’t take long” and “no one is even here” and “my parents won’t be back for hours.”
Once she realized she didn’t even know what goes where during woohoo she cooled off and told Troy she’d be honored to be his girlfriend.
And that was that… Except….
Piper saw the whole thing…. Somebody’s in trouble ya’ll.
So just as Joey was getting used to life with four children, one being the most amazing little boy in the world, Audrey was busy going through puberty. In fact, Piper, the youngest of the three girls, found it quite hilarious that Audrey’s face was covered in little pimples and her boobs were getting bigger. She teased her about her “gramps” (Lola told her about cramps, but she couldn’t say that for whatever reason), about her “diapers” (pads).. pretty much everything.
Audrey was not amused. Poor Audrey.
However when it came time to celebrate, everyone was full of cheer. Eloise baked her signature birthday cake (a cake so scrumptious, so fresh, moist, chocolately, ooey, gooey and delicious that people from blocks over requested her cakes for THEIR parties!) and lit candles. Everyone gathered around to sing sweet Audrey a special happy birthday song.
Audrey grew into a beautiful teenage girl, just a few years younger than Lola. As everyone headed to bed, Lola gave tips to Audrey on high school, boys and bras. They were turning into the best of friends.
As the weeks went by, Joey and Pete were put to work yet again. Audrey out-right refused to share a room with her sister Piper. So, after a weekend of hard work, a wall went up right through the middle of their room. What teenager doesn’t need their privacy?
Joey and Pete have been quite busy since Joey Junior’s birth!
First, they had to add on to the house… again! As the family grows, so, too, does their home. The way El and Joey figure, adding on to the house is more cost-efficient than packing up and moving. Besides, there are so many memories here. This is where they were engaged and where they brought home their very first baby.
She had a great garden that was growing too. And it’s not like she could just pack it up and take it with them. They decided that no matter how large their family grew, they would call this place home forever.
Peter and Joey decided the best way to exapnd was toward the river where they had more land. They opened up Joey’s office and pushed in Lola’s room. They were able to then add a room for lil Joey. It was small, but it worked. They pushed in Audrey and Piper’s room a bit too. Everything turned out nicely.
Icing on the cake?
Eloise got an updated kitchen out of the deal. New paint, cabinets, appliances, flooring and new dining chairs! And the cherry on top of the icing on top of the cake? They expanded the master bedroom to make it larger (with plans in the future to add a bathroom in there), added new paint and carpet. Their bedroom furniture could use an update but they decided to hold off. They had already dipped way too far into their savings (which, by the way, was growing exponentially since Joey kept getting promoted).
Welcome to the world Joseph Reece Markham Jr. !!
(aka JDubb, Junior, JJ, Lil Joey, etc. etc.)
That’s right! After three beautiful girls, Joey and Eloise welcomed a handsome son to their family. Eloise was beside herself. He was perfect! After the worst labor of her life, she was just in awe at how much beauty she and Joey created. Through tears, she yelled out that it was a boy. When Joey heard the sound of the B in the word boy he almost caught the holy ghost….. They were words he had been waiting to hear for years now.
He stared at his son like he was looking at his own reflection. He told his son about all the fun they were going to have cracking jokes, fishing, barbequing and ganging up on the girls.
Awwwww Joey.
El’s water broke right at the dinner table, this time labor came with a force and fury that she hadn’t experienced with her girls.
Let us just take a moment and bow our heads for poor Eloise….
Joey tried to provide as much comfort as he could before Pete got there to pick up the girls but nothing was working. Eloise was writhing and screaming in pain, there was no way they were going to make it to the hospital. This revelation completely freaked Joey the freak out.
Peter finally arrived and he and Joey got the girls’ things and packed them up. They’d be spending the weekend with Peter and Cherry. However, by this time, Eloise had managed to get to the master bedroom where she planned to deliver the baby.
She prayed, she cursed… she cried… Labor was never this intense before.. EVER.
Poor Eloise…
We all knew this would happen right? Number four is officially on it’s way. Will it be a son for Joey? Or another daughter looking exactly like Eloise? We shall soon find out…
Meanwhile, El has been quite busy in her garden. She’s got mushrooms, sage, basil, grapes, onions, carrots, potatoes, dragonfruit, plantains, lemons, apples, strawberries, blackberries, pears, lillies, blue bells, chrysanthemums, even some hybrid plants like bonsai berries and orchids! Her roses are immaculate.
All this while managing to make it to the top ranks of her career as a chef and taking care of three beautiful daughters and one amazing husband.
You go girl. You just go.

“Where are you from?”… “Where is your mother from?” “Who do you live with?” “You got any felonies?” “Have you ever had sex?” “Name five things about my daughter that you like and you better not say shit about her body.”
The questions were coming like rapid gunfire from both Joey AND Peter and poor Lola was horrified.
“What is your mother’s maiden name?” “How old are you? 16? You ain’t 16.”
Troy was on the verge of tears as he left telling Lola he’d see her at school. Meanwhile, Joey and Peter were CRACKING UP at themselves!
Lola was pissed off. It was the first time she’d ever yelled at her dad. She left the table and didn’t speak to her dad OR uncle Joey for a week. But oh well, she’ll get over it. Joey and Uncle Pete need to make sure she’s in good hands amirite?
Well, that “number three” that was in El’s uterus turned out to be a sweet little girl named Piper. Joey, yet again, was head over heels in love (but secretly wondered if he could only produce sperm that wore little pink bows on their little sperm heads).
Piper was a good baby, she hardly cried and delivering her was a breeze according to Eloise. Piper grew up into a very smart and beautiful little girl just like her older sisters.
Audrey was just a few years older than her and was excelling in school. Audrey is at the top of her class earning straight A’s all the time! She always did her homework on time and always did extra credit.
Audrey is not pictured in the family pic at the end because she had to take an angry poop. But I digress….
Anyone else find it odd that Joey invited Uncle Pete over at the same time Lola invited Troy over?
….. some shit is about to go down up in the Markham house….
Poor Troy.
Lola wasn’t the only one growing up….
Troy was a friend she’d known since 3rd grade. As they got older, she started to see him as just a little bit more than a friend. The feeling was certainly mutual. Whenever they could, they hung out.
Of course this did not go unnoticed by Joey who desperately wanted to meet this dude.
When he finally did, he could have ripped his face off and fed it to him. It’s not that Troy was a bad guy, it’s just… you see…
No one “dates” his Lolaboo. No one.
Poor Joey…
These two….
Can’t keep their hands off each other as usual. And, yes, that is #3 in Eloise’s uterus. Lawdamercy….
That last pic? The look on your face when you are about to get #datass
Happy Birthday Lola Marie!!! ❤
Hope you love your new bedroom that your daddy and uncle Pete built for you!
It won’t be long now.
Lola is about to grow up ya’ll! But first, she was content with spending as much time just being a kid as possible. She had become best friends with Christy and her two sisters. Always at the park. Always on the monkey bars. I mean, who doesn’t enjoy trips to the park with their homegirls?
Eloise had become a star in the kitchen since you last heard from her. I mean, she’s been throwing DOWN. Lobster dishes? Lamb chops? Say whaaaaaaaaat? As long as Joey kept bringing home those dollar bills, El could pull off anything she wanted in the kitchen.
So let’s see.. Lola is growing up, El is doing her thang. And Baby Audrey? Well, as you can see, she is no longer “baby” Audrey. She has grown up. Wiping her butt by herself and everything. One thing about Audrey is she absolutely adores her big sister. She follows her everywhere, does everything Lola does. She wants to be just like her. Time will surely tell.
Oh and Peter? He was designated babysitter while El and Joey worked. If you needed to know any of the playground gossip, go to Pete.
He’s got the goods!
A day in the life of Joey and his family.
Pretty soon, Lola will be buying pimple cream and maxi pads. At least she has her best friend Christy to go to the store with. And now that baby Audrey is getting bigger, Joey is planning on remodeling Lolaboo’s room.
……and probably dropping the “boo” from her name too.
Poor Joey.
She’s getting a little too big for all the toys. Even if she will be sharing a room with her sister, she’ll need her own “big girl” space. She’s also a B student now after much hard work. No really, that’s REALLY hard!
Well well well… let’s revisit Joey and his growing family shall we? How HAVE they been???!!
So let’s see.. Lola has been doing incredible in school thanks to daddy’s hands-on approach to parenting. You see those red bags under his eyes? Hard day at work, but does he let Lola know that? No way… he knew his work was paying off when he would catch her off in a corner somewhere curled up with a book of her own…
….. But she was growing up. And learning about chat rooms… and training bras… and *gasp* periods….
She met a boy online named Adam. Apparently he was in the same school but a grade higher than her… they sometimes met during lunch at one of the benches by the river… You realize they had to sneak out of school to do this right? Right.
Joey is about to lose his damn mind…
Poor Joey.
Oh, and Eloise? Business as usual! She was either in her garden or her kitchen and she was a freakin’ BOSS in each one. She started working part time and was trying to wrap her mind (and body) around this whole working mom business. It was HARD.
So that’s pretty much it… Nothing too exciting happening for Joey….
Except… for, you know….
HIS NEW BABY! He didn’t get his dear son, but he got something even more precious, another darling daughter; Audrey Rain Markham.
Awwww Joey….
Labor for baby number two has officially begun and this time, it came with a vengeance!
Poor Joey, all he could do was stand around and smile. When El went into labor Joey was like a little kid full of excitement. El was about to slap the shit out of him because, you know, labor hurts… but he offered to massage her to help. It most certainly helped.
Off to the hospital they went, ready to welcome home Lola’s new baby brother or sister.
Things in the Markham household went on as usual with the exception of Eloise’s ever-growing bump. Seems like this time around her belly was much larger.. Isn’t there a thing about second babies showing bigger and earlier than the first? Well, it was definitely happening…
But Eloise is a trooper and she kept her garden in immaculate condition. She would even talk to her plants which was nice when her husband was at work or Lolaboo was at school.
The first thing Joey did when he came home was go directly to El, he almost always found her in the bathroom.
After dinner, when everyone was getting ready to sleep, the baby would kick poor El right in the crotch… all the pregnancy websites called it “lightning crotch”. El didn’t remember those kinds of kicks with Lola, but this baby was making bedtime an extremely difficult situation.
She loved talking with Joey about all the different girly names she was thinking of but Joey just sat there with the side-eye. Joey knew damn well there was a penis on his fetus, Or at least he hoped anyway.
El could get no relief no matter what she did. Showering only helped so much, eating never did. It seemed as if this baby would be coming any day now…..
Seriously.
Fixing shit around the house without being asked. Reading to his daughter every night. Taking her to the park on his days off and still managing to find time to make out with his wife after a hard day’s work.
Perfect husband, perfect father. Is Joey really that perfect?
I mean really…..
So while Lolaboo was busy making friends, her parents were busy making babies…
So nasty. Just shameful! I don’t EVEN want to know what Eloise is doing under that blanket… with her freaky self.
She been drankin…..WATAMELON…..
Go girl.
Clearly, Lola has no problem making friends….
Things were going very well for the Joey and his sweet little family. The only thing that would make life better would be a dog. But for some reason, Joey noticed no one in the neighborhood had a pet… how odd.
Lolaboo (as her daddy called her and “Lolabear” as her mommy called her) was learning the ropes of being a little girl. She could stay home alone, get her own food and was becoming quite the artist!
And Eloise? Still a BOSS in the kitchen! In fact, now that Lolabear was older, she decided to put her skills to the test by getting a job at a 5 star restaurant. She started washing dishes and now she’s HEAD dishwasher!
You GO El, you just go.
Joey and Eloise managed to spend as much time together as they could now with their busy schedules. Life had changed so much for them. Joey’s career was flying and El’s was just starting. Lolabear had her own needs trying to make friends and get her homework done. What a difference a child makes! Joey loved the outdoors as did El, so fishing and gardening were their main methods of bonding time…
Well that, and sex… lots and lots of sex.
You see, Joey and El decided to start trying for another baby and well… pregnancy test after pregnancy test showed that their efforts were not working. This was taking quite a toll on Eloise. She was worried that she couldn’t have more children. She was an only child… what if she took after her mother? Joey on the other hand was a little more optimistic. When it is time for another baby, he will come (because he needed son so damn bad). He could always make El feel better about it.
They decided, together, that they would no longer focus on trying and just woohoo for the hell of it!
This made Joey happy. VERY happy. Get your woohoo on homie.
Ahh yes, Lola finally grew up. It’s almost as if she skipped right through the toddler years and straight into elementary school…. how odd.
El was so much in love! Every time she hugged little Lola it was as if she was hugging herself. She wanted to do it all over again. Funny how that works… as soon as they grow on ya, you start missing those teeny weeny babies again.
But I digress….
Lola loved her new room!! Frogs? Not so much… but daddy found it and thought it would be a nice touch. Speaking of daddy, he and Pete built that fancy addition onto their house. You see, there was no way Joey was giving up his office. That’s the only he was able to bring home $800 a day!
Took about a week (and more of Joey’s savings than he would care to discuss thank you very much) and some intense labor (bazinga!) to get everything ready for Lola to grow up.
Lola got her smarts from her mother. After checking out her room, she sat right down at her desk and started her homework that magically appeared in her box of stuff and coincidentally needed to be completed before she started school… how odd.
Joey spent most of his time in her room. Lola was the love of his life and the best doll house player, like, ever. She totally had the doll game down.
She got her amazing personality from her daddy and she just LOVED chatting it up with ‘ol uncle Pete!
Bedtime approached, but since it was her birthday, El and Joey decided to let Lola stay up late. I mean, it was a celebration! Eloise baked cookies and everything!
Peter teased her about changing her stinky diapers, and she teased right back about wearing no socks and bright blue shoes.
She gets that wild sense of humor from her dad. After all, he brings home the bacon from his sense of humor!
The Markhams ladies and gentlemen…
OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!
Life as a new father was going pretty good for Joey! He had started working off all that baby weight and it was starting to show!
Go Jo-eeeey Go Joey GO!
He even built up the confidence to try and sweet talk El into having another baby right away. Now, listen… El loved her some Joey but she would be damned if she went through labor again so soon.
Stop playin’ Joey. Sit down Joey. Take several seats Joey.
Besides all that pressure, Joey was happy with the one he had already. He took over night time feedings. When El woke up for the day, she just stared and admired her sweet daughter Lola, knowing she would be a big girl soon. Joey and El even showed Petey how to feed her!
Eloise nursed as much as she could. She was so amazed by the life she and Joey created. She was sure that in no time, Lola would be running around and wouldn’t be this tiny any more.
Awwwww Lola
Pete didn’t know much about babies, but he knew all about women…
One woman in particular. Things between him and Cherry were heating up faster than a stripper in the locker room of a SFL team…
Well…
Joey and Eloise were released from the hospital just this morning with a little someone new. After 37 hours 7 minutes and 8 seconds of hard back labor, Lola Marie Markham made her way into the world.
Joey and El were so happy to be home with her.
El couldn’t sleep in the hospital with all the adrenaline she had been experiencing but the warmth and familiarity of her bed put her right to sleep. And that’s when Joey took over. It took him a little while to figure out what to actually do with babies. He wasn’t sure how to hold little Lola and he was afraid he’d break her.
Awwwww Joey…
Things came natural to Eloise. Lola nursed like a champ and was a very easy baby.
Peter came over bearing gifts and well.. he didn’t know the first thing about babies…
Poor Petey.
Joey had been working long hours leaving Eloise to fend for herself around the house. This was fine with El since her patience had been wearing thin. She only found solace in her garden. Basically what i’m saying is, Joey was getting on her damn NERVES! He was too clingy, too lovey and the bigger El got the less time she had fo’ dat. So yeah, there was a bit of a strain on their relationship but honestly who can blame Eloise? She’s 9 months pregnant, first baby, she doesn’t even know if her internal organs are still there, she’s always uncomfortable and any time she lays down she…..
Oh shit… I think her water broke! Where the fuck is Joey?!?!
Eloise tried to labor as much as she could at home. She walked around, tried to eat but couldn’t, tried breathing techniques but all that shit they taught her and Joey in childbirth class went out the window when that pain hit. Felt like a semi-truck and godzilla were having sex in her pelvis…
She decided to get dressed and ready for the hospital. Her bag had been packed about 2 months ago. The contractions were coming back to back as the sun rose. Joey had the nerve to come home from work and put his pajamas on talkin’ bout “What’s wrong baby?" Poor Joey was clueless. So El proceeded to show him the growth protruding from the front of her and replied "Hospital… NOWWWW!”
So Joey did what any man would do when his wife is in labor: He called his boy Pete over for moral support.
Damn it Joey!
By the time Pete arrived, El was half way to the damn hospital….
Get in the CAR JOEY!
I mean, she wasn’t sick ALL the time. Most of the time she could still work in her garden and enjoy feeling little wiggles and squirms in her belly. Joey simply could NOT keep his hands off of her or the life growing inside of her. He was head over heels. Always asking if the baby was kicking, one hand always on the baby.
He tried to pretend like it was a joke when he told her he wanted five children… the look on her face said it all. She loved the idea of a big family, just not carrying all them babies. It was bad enough she was being stretched and pulled in all different directions already.
Maybe she would though, who knows. She loved the way he loved her and she loved the way he couldn’t keep himself away from her. It was a side of Joey she hadn’t seen and knew in her heart he was going to be an amazing father.
Awwwwww Joey
Pretty sure I mentioned that El was an amazing cook. Her skills only got better the further along she got in her pregnancy. Cooking wasn’t the problem however, eating was…
She often found herself having to settle for tea even after all those fancy trick moves in the kitchen.
She couldn’t even keep the tea down!
Poor Eloise…..
So back to Joey….
Things didn’t work out so well with Lauren. Apparently she wasn’t ready to move in. Joey moves too fast, yadda yadda. Screw you right?
Poor Joey.
But he remembered a woman he met at the coffee shop one morning…
Her name was Eloise. He called her… wait…. he called Lauren first and told her to go play in traffic. So he called Eloise and invited her over for dinner. She jumped right in and cooked even though HE did the inviting! She was an amazing cook and made an excellent salad. Joey being the meat and potatoes man that he was didn’t mind. He thought it was cute that she took pictures of her food and thought salad was a meal fit for a man…
She wasn’t just cute though, she was gorgeous.
