Larry wondered why the bathroom smelled so nice after Alex took a bath.  She was so relaxed afterwards.  So he just started pouring salts, powders and other things from random jars he found in the bathroom into the water.

He couldn’t handle that level of relaxation. No wonder Alex’s baths took so long.

Meanwhile, Larry has found a way to bring income into the house by programming, designing game mods and selling his plug-ins for various software programs.  Turns out, he didn’t need a regular job after all.

Good job Larry.

After consuming what quite possibly was the most epic breakfast of champions, Larry starts up a pot of coffee for Alex whom he assumed would be waking soon.  He was right.  He was also very happy lately.  He couldn’t wait to get back to the mountains with her.  She wondered what he had up his sleeve.

The moving vans have long gone and everything is unpacked and put away. Furniture is arranged and paintings are hung with care.  All boxes have been recycled.  Alex and Larry are extremely exhausted after a very long week.

Goodnight you two.

As it turns out, Alex and Larry didn’t have to search far for a home.  Her neighbor had moved some time ago.  While Larry went to check out the backyard, Alex found herself lost in the vast expanse in front of her. She envisioned herself there every morning.  The back of the home was even better.  Without even looking at the interior, they knew.

Alexandria Marina Oceana Drifter and Lawrence Lloyd Lakes had found their new home.

Today is moving day for Larry! First, he had to prove to his roommates that he was, in fact, “getting some.”  Larry’s roommates were pleasantly surprised to find all of this out.  The house he shared with them soon filled with the sounds of laughter, jokes and handshakes.  They were so proud that their quiet, chess playing, slightly lazy roommate was “finally getting laid on the regular.” Of course Larry knew it only happened once.  Finally, he was sent off with much love and more beer than his bladder could handle.

Good luck to you Larry.

Alex spent the rest of her morning centering herself, listening to the ancestors and making peace with her decision.

Self care is the best care Alex.

Alex spent her day in deep reflection.  How would Larry fit into her tiny house? She could never give up the ocean.  No way.  She looked up some potential properties and scheduled some times to tour them.  Alex wasn’t excited to move at all.  She found her perfect place along the shore and didn’t know how to feel about losing this space.

The next morning after meditating on it (and after speaking with Larry who assured her he had some money saved), she made the decision to sell her small piece of the world.

Alex was nervous about the possibility of moving in with Larry.  She hadn’t quite gotten that far in her relationships.  Larry, however, had a way with words.  Alex was won over quickly, although she doesn’t know if it was his words or the fact that he made love to her like she was made of sculpted glass that was so convincing…..

It’s about time Alex.  You deserve it.

Meanwhile, Larry was trying to convince his roommates that he might have found the one.  He was met with laughter, side-eyes, jokes, questions about his employment status (or lack thereof), why he hadn’t “hit it” yet and a plethora of other intrusive questions.  Larry decided he really needed to move.

After a nice brunch, Alex finds herself trying to decide what to do about the constant thought to rescue Larry from his roommates and invite him to live with her.  Alex doesn’t know how to feel about this at all.

When Larry came to thank Alex for a wonderful time in the mountains, he came on strong.  Alex was apprehensive.  So… she sat him down and explained that she was nervous, she really liked his company and she couldn’t technically be his girl until he met her frogs.  They had dinner, Larry was introduced to the frogs, washed up the dinner dishes and he promised her before he left that he would not disappoint her.  No more emails? No more emails.

Back home, Alex spent some time identifying some of the plants and bugs she collected in the mountains and brewing up some remedies for various ailments.

Alex and Larry were having a great time enjoying the mountains in the company of each other.  From early morning, stimulating campfire conversations to burnt mouths from too hot marshmallows, bug invasions and some friendly competition playing horseshoes.  Alex is convinced that tickling her while it was her turn was totally cheating.  Alex is also convinced that Larry is a pretty awesome guy for respecting her boundaries without question.

Larry learned some things about Alex as well.  He learned her real name is Alexandria Marina Oceana Drifter.  She loves nature, reading and geeking out about science fiction shows and fish.  She’s never been lucky around people and is terribly awkward around men in particular.  He also discovered that behind all of that, there was a gentle soul longing for the touch of a man.

Or so he thought…..

Alex preferred separate tents.

Alex learned a lot about Larry on their first night in the mountains.  She learned his entire name was Lawrence Lloyd Lakes.  Alex found this hilarious, the sucker for alliteration that she is.  She also found out why he sent that email.  Apparently he thought she wouldn’t be interested in a guy who lives with a bunch of drunk roommates and can’t find a job.  Alex thought it was rather nice for a man to admit his insecurities even if the delivery failed.

Somehow Larry managed to convince Alex to take a trip to the mountains.  He said he’d explain his recent behavior when they got there.

Be careful Alex.

It was innocent enough.  Ellis just wanted to know if his neighbor noticed the abundance of bears at the local pubs.  While Alex had no idea that “Come on in” meant a strange man would see her in her night clothes.  She thought it was Larry.  In fact, when this Ellis guy showed up she was checking her emails for a response from Larry that never came.  Alex entertained Ellis the best she could.  Alex hoped he’d be the last stranger to come waltzing up to her door.

Ellis has only been in the neighborhood for a week.  After almost setting his house on fire he figured he’d check out the bar and have a much needed beer.  Ellis has concluded that this town is creepy as fuck.

Alex receives a very cryptic email from Larry.  Apparently he doesn’t want to lead her on while he ties up some loose ends in his life.

At least they had the sunset.

Goodnight Alex.

Larry asked to take Alex out.  Expecting the typical dinner and a movie, he was shocked when she suggested they watch the sunset from the Bluffs.  Alex is very shy.  Alex is awkward around people. Larry appreciated that.  Alex allowed her shell to crack just a tiny bit.  As you should Alex, as you should.

Alex spent her afternoon (and well into the evening) exploring haunted mansions, beautiful vistas and ancient ruins.  Alex, a nature lover, appreciates this less social part of her new world.

Alex was oblivious to the extremely high levels of creepiness in this town.  The guy who sat down with the book was pretty nice though.  Alex is a bookworm.  Alex appreciates that.

Dear Alex,

I’m sorry you fell trying out that new pose.

I’m sorry when he said “Let’s hangout” you didn’t know it meant with his girlfriend too.

Goodnight Alex.
